Fatbirds Don't Fly

Pedal Revolution lives and breathes bikes and cycling accessories. We've been in business for 20 years - 9 of which have been online - and have built a reputation for the best brands, excellent prices, fantastic cycling knowledge and great customer service.

Over the last 7 years we've developed an addiction to all things Titanium and work with companies such as Van Nicholas, Kinesis, J Guillem and Lynskey. We understand that we’re now Europe's biggest dealer in Titanium road bikes – and have between 15 and 20 bikes built up for customers to test at any one time.

We help customers build bikes from frame. We provide a full fitting service and work with customers to specify all the required items for their new bike - frame type and size, groupset, crank length, cassette size, stem size, bar width - and so on, so that they get the perfect bike for them.

We offer a highly secure shopping environment (via sagepay) and next day delivery service on all orders over £20 across the UK (mainland). We also deliver around the world. So, happy shopping! If you've any queries or questions please call us on 01553 97 00 97 and all comments are gratefully received through info@pedalrevolution.co.uk

Finding the Store

Cycle to Work

Cycle to Work is a government scheme, aimed at making cycling more affordable and accessible for commuters and leisure riders. It's a simple three-step process, which will help you save up to 42% on a brand new bike, cycling accessories or a combination of the two!

Step 1 - Choose your Bike and Equipment, Online or In Store

You can take advantage of Cycle to Work in any of our stores and online.

Simply browse our range of bikes, accessories and clothing and decide on a package that suits you. If you’re purchasing a regular bike, the total sum of your purchase cannot usually exceed £1000 (exceptions apply – see FAQs). If you’re purchasing an electric bike, then we work with a specialist e-bike Cycle to Work provider, who can process applications with a higher spending limit. See our FAQ section below for more details.

Your Cycle to Work allowance can be used against a bike, accessories, or a combination of the two. Accessories such as a cycle helmet and hi-vis clothing would be a sensible choice, while a pannier rack or basket will make taking your packed lunch to work a doddle.

You will need to request a quote from our customer service team. Please just contact us to get started.

We recommend you reserve your bike as soon as you’ve received your quote, by paying a small refundable deposit (£50); this deposit is fully refundable on bikes that are in-stock only. This ensures you don’t miss out on the bike you’ve picked out, and also means you’ll get your bike quicker! If you’re buying in store, our store team will take your deposit; if you’re ordering online, then please call us on 01603 614400 and we’ll take your deposit over the phone.

Step 2 - Request Your Cycle to Work Certificate via your employer

Once you’ve chosen your bike and gear, you need to check with your HR / Finance department whether your company is already enrolled on a Cycle to Work scheme. We accept vouchers / certificates from the following Cycle to Work providers:

If your employer is already registered on a Cycle to Work scheme…

You just need to request a quote from us, to present to your employer. This can be done either by popping into one of our stores, or by emailing the following information to: info@pedalrevolution.co.uk

:

  • Bike model, size and colour
  • Any accessories, including size and colour
  • Your home address
  • Your email address
  • Your contact number
  • Your employer’s name and address
  • Which Cycle to Work provider your employer is registered with (from the list above)

Once you’ve got your quote, simply present it to your employer, who will in turn apply to the provider for your voucher.

If your employer isn’t registered yet…

You can invite them to join any of the provider schemes above. Once they’re registered, simply follow the quote request process above to get your quote.

Step 3 - Receive Your Equipment & Hit the Road!

Once you have your voucher / certificate, simply bring it in store or email it to info@pedalrevolution.co.uk

We’ll redeem your voucher with your Cycle to Work provider and hand over your bike (or ship it to you, if you’re ordering online), fully built and ready to ride. Some providers allow us to release the bike immediately on receipt of your voucher; with others, you may need to allow a few days’ processing time. Rest assured that from our side, we’ll be working as fast as we can to get your bike to you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Cycle to Work scheme work?

If you’re a UK employee, Cycle to Work allows you to spread the cost of a new bike and equipment (maximum £1000 in total), by paying in instalments taken directly from your wage. The payments are taken out of your gross wage and your Tax & NI contributions are then worked out based on your new lower gross wage, saving you money on your new bike and equipment.

You’ll enter into a hire agreement with your employer, who owns the bike for the period of the agreement. At the end of this period, you then have the option of buying your bike or continuing to use it while you work for the company. If you decide to purchase the bike, the balance you owe will be based on a percentage of how much the bike was worth at the time you took out the Cycle to Work scheme.

With the Cycle to Work scheme you can get a maximum of £1000 of vouchers to spend on:

  • Any adult bikes (maximum of 2 bikes)
  • Cycle helmets
  • Bells and bulb horns
  • Lights including dynamo packs
  • Mirrors and mudguards
  • Cycle clips and dress guards
  • Panniers, luggage carriers and straps to allow luggage to be safely carried
  • Locks and chains to secure the bike
  • Pumps, puncture repair kits, cycle tools and tyre sealant to allow for minor repairs
  • Reflective clothing
  • White front reflectors and spoke reflectors

Which Cycle to Work vouchers do you accept?

We accept vouchers from the following government-approved Cycle to Work providers:

Can I pay an additional amount over and above £1000?

This would need to be confirmed with your employer. We are able to do this up to about £1500, however you will need to find out where you stand in terms of ownership of the bike at the end of the agreement.

Can I choose bikes and accessories on sale?

Any bike/accessory that has a reduced RRP can be purchased through Cycle to Work, but will incur an additional charge, to cover the provider’s administration fees.

Are there any bikes I can’t order online?

Certain brands, such as Trek do not allow their bikes to be sent via courier service, therefore these bikes are only available when you make a Cycle to Work application in store.

How do I purchase an electric bike on the Cycle to Work scheme?

Electric bikes are an increasingly popular option for commuting; they’re easy to ride, green and cheap to run. Most e-bikes come in at over £1000 [the current limit for most Cycle to Work applications]; however, we’ve partnered with some specialist e-bike Cycle to Work providers. These providers don’t have this £1000 limit, so it covers the often higher price of electric bikes. Although the scheme is pitched at electric bikes, mechanical bikes are also available through the scheme, so it’s ideal whether you’re after your dream mechanical bike or an awesome electric bike. If you have any questions, we’re here to help – just give our team a call on 01485 535875

Can I use Cycle to Work vouchers in any of your stores?

Yes you can – you just need to specify which store, when requesting your vouchers / certificate.

When will I get my deposit back?

Your £50 deposit will be refunded upon redemption of your voucher.
