Freehub Body
Featuring a 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5 degree engagement angle and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint freehub has strong individual pawl springs which engage quicker. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.
Bearings
The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision sealed cartridge bearings by Japanese experts EZO, and this wheelset even has low-friction seals to further reduce rolling resistance.

Precision machined straight pull hubs and spokes add strength and enhance power transfer meaning all your force pushes you forwards. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps add extra stiffness.

Rim Bed
H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tyres. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures or riding off-road.

Spokes
We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter and provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance. PSR spokes feature the 2.2 width at the head providing more material in this high stress area. Nipples are 14mm alloy, anodized and come with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining components well is key which is why all Hunt wheels are hand-built.

Tyres
At HUNT, we enjoy the puncture resistance and grip benefits of tubeless on our every-day rides so we wanted to allow our customers the same option. Of course, all of our tubeless-ready wheels are designed to work perfectly with clincher tyres and inner tubes too.
Maximum tyre pressure for this rim is 120psi when used with an inner tube and 100psi when running the wheel set-up tubeless. 100 psi is more than enough for any rider on road. Click here to listen to a podcast exploring the science of why lower pressures were found to be faster by pro teams.
Maximum tyre pressures for other tyre sizes: 30mm do not exceed 80psi, 33mm do not exceed 60psi and 35-45mm do not exceed 40psi.

Weight
The consequence of the fanatical attention to detail is an outstandingly light 1537 gram wheelset weight in a lightning fast stiff aero package. We've enjoyed free wheeling in the pack whilst all others are pedalling, is it cheating?
Skewers
The little details matter, the HUNT Race Season quick-release skewers use brass for the cam, which has self lubricating properties. We have also upgraded to stainless steel springs in order to prevent rusting.
