F.A.Q

I’m between sizes – what size is right for me?

If you are sat between the two sizes then you can choose either of the sizes depending on your preference. as a general rule, a Road Bike is easy to size up by raising the saddle and fitting a longer stem however if the frame is too big for you making it smaller is very difficult if not impossible (a large frame is also less efficient) . A Mountain Bike as a general rule will be easier to handle if you choose the larger frame, they offer a more planted feel but will not be as technical through trails where you want to pick your line.

If you are in any doubt about your size please contact us and our team will be very happy to help you.

Are women’s sizes different to men’s?

Yes. Women’s geometry is different, they typically have shorter top tubes to reduce the reach to the handlebars so a women’s small would be smaller than a men’s small. With that said, the sizing is calculated the same way so a 54cm will have the same frame size regardless of gender.

How do you measure a bike to find the frame size?

Mountain bikes typically use the length of the seat tube from the top of the tube to the centre of the bottom bracket (middle of that front chainring). Some road bike are also measured this way but some measure the top tube from the center of the headtube in a horizontal line parallel with the floor to where the seat tube would be if it continued up (this is known as “virtual sizing”)
